A dramatic open plan house with stepped cantilevered slabs with continuous planters at the edges perched on the lava rock formations of the western shore of Maui. The site is 60 feet wide with a 245-foot long water frontage. The view is spectacular from the seamless glass windows. The house has a ship-like quality when viewed from the ocean. The floors are concrete with polished granite pavers. The exterior walls are sandblasted coloured concrete with top-hung stacking glass. The interior walls are also sandblasted coloured concrete with a plaster finish. The house is 4,500 square feet with a guesthouse (Ohana) and garage of 1500 square feet. |
